The Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes will run at Ascot Racecourse in Perth on Saturday November 24, 2012.
Run over a distance of 1,200 metres, the 2012 Winterbottom Stakes is worth $500,000 in prize money.
The 2012 Winterbottom Stakes is open to horses aged three-years-old and upwards and is run under weight-for-age conditions.
The race is run as part of Railway Stakes Day and shares its program with the Group 1 Railway Stakes and Group 2 WA Guineas.
Ortensia won her first Group 1 in last year’s Winterbottom Stakes before international success in the Group 1 Al Quoz Sprint in Dubai next start.
The Testa Rossa mare has won 11 of her 31 race starts and has earned more than $2.1 million in prize money during her career.
Her next start will be in the Group 1 July Cup at Newmarket racecourse in England on July 14, 2012.
