Trainer Peter Moody confirmed that the Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes at Ascot Racecourse is on the agenda for Horse of the Year Black Caviar on November 19, 2011.
Black Caviar claimed her 15th unbeaten victory in the Group 2 Schweppes Stakes at Caulfield last start.
The super mare is set to target the Group 1 Patinack Farm Classic at Flemington on November 5, 2011, before heading to Perth for the Winterbottom Stakes 2011.
“She’s not a definite in a fortnight (for the Patinack) yet because she’s got to please us along the way,” Moody said.
“That (Winterbottom) is one of the races I’ve pencilled in and I’m hopeful for the people of Perth that she can be there, but nothing is ever for certain in this life.
“It would be wonderful though, so let’s get Flemington out of the way.
“You want to put bums on seats and it makes great racing. It’s great to be able to give a little something back to the racing industry that’s been my living.”
Jockey Luke Nolen is also eager to take Black Caviar West for the Winterbottom Stakes 2011.
“It would be great to showcase her there,” Nolen said.
“She’s going so good and nearly the whole reason for the trip to Perth would be the plane ride before she goes overseas next year to get her used to the travel.”
The 2011 Winterbottom Stakes is worth $500,000 in prize money and run over a distance of 1,200 metres.
